Miners Candlesticks

Anaconda.JPG - ANACONDA - Length 8 1/2 in; ex-Steve Rush collection (Two different steel candlesticks are gang stamped with the Anaconda name and both are rare. The one shown here is very similar to the also rare Bonanza marked stick shown later in my pics. At the time of Wilson and Bobrink's Collector's Guide to Antique Miners' Candlesticks publication date of 1984, this Anaconda marked stick was unknown. Another stick marked Anaconda is identified as No. 1 in the guide. The main difference between the two is the hook. Unlike this one, the No. 1 stick has a round stock hook and is applied separately. The No. 1 stick was reportedly made in the Butte, MT area and sold by the Anaconda-owned Montana Hardware Company. Both gang stampings look very similar, either on the side or top of the shaft forward of the hook. It is unknown whether this Anaconda marked stick also originated in the Butte area.
