Miners Candlesticks

Though they vary somewhat in design, all are cast steel and, except for the model marked IDEAL, all have thethimble brazed on. Many are painted with a black varnish (known as Japanned). Like Varney, Ludlow-Saylor made sticks under other names including COLORADO, CALUMET, HECLA, CRESCENT, DULUTH, IMPROVED IDEAL, IRON RANGE, MONTANA, MT SHASTA, MENLO, CALIFORNIA, EUREKA, ARGAUNAUT and WASHINGTON.
